Management Information System Association

Current Officers

Jefferson Boeck

I am currently a senior in MIS and will be graduating in December 2018. I took 8 years away from school to figure out what I wanted to do. In that time, I was in wine sales and distribution where I saw firsthand the importance of smooth implementation of new technology. I decided to come back to school to study Information System because of the need for people that understand technology and business concerns. I like to work on my backyard, hang out with my son, and tinker with technology. I look forward to continuing my career and working in project management. My dream job would be to work at a mid size company that does IT consulting and custom software development for the food and beverage industry.

Vice President

Nicole Mundine

My name is Nicole Mundine and I am a senior graduating in Spring 2018. I started attending TAMUCC in the fall of 2009 where I majored in Psychology but quickly realized that field was not for me. I switched my major to Marketing, thinking that a business degree would better suit me, but was still not satisfied with my chosen path. After taking three years off to focus on working full-time and figuring out exactly what it was I wanted to do, I returned to TAMUCC in Summer 2015 as an MIS student and have never looked back. When I'm not studying or working I enjoy going out with friends, watching movies and playing with my fur babies.

Haeley Thormaehlen

My name is Haeley Thormaehlen. I am a senior MIS major and will be graduating in May of 2018. I actually changed my major five times, I believe the final count was. I started out as an accounting major, switched to diagnostic medical sonography, then to sports management, back to accounting, then to finance and finally discovered MIS. I knew I had already acquired quite a few business credits, so I didn’t want to stray away from the business college. I ended up just searching what else in the business college TAMUCC had to offer and came across MIS. After some research, I was convinced this was the best path for me. Right now, during Fall 2017, I am pledging the business fraternity (I definitely recommend checking it out) so it’s a busy semester, but when I’m not in school, with the club, at a pledge event or working as a bookkeeper, I like to go to the beach, go fishing, or unwind with a good book. I always enjoy meeting new people, so feel free to reach out to me if you’d like!

Laraine Shawa

My name is Laraine Shawa. I am a senior MIS major and will be graduating Spring 2018. Before I was a MIS major I was in Computer Science. After experiencing a few classes I realized I wanted to major in something that has a mix of business and coding. When I am not doing homework, I enjoy going dancing, watching movies, going to the beach with friends, and being involved on campus. Other than the MISA club, I was involved in CAB, Island Ambassadors, National Leadership society, Business Honor Society, and I enjoy volunteering in my free time. I love meeting new people so don’t be shy to come say hello!

Board Members

Ross Burgan

My name is Ross Burgan. I am a MIS major and I am graduating in the Summer of 2018. I started out as a psychology major because I was really interested into helping people through their issues. After taking an intro to philosophy class, I thought that it was going to be my major. I finally decided that I wanted to get a business degree, so I looked into what each major taught and decided that MIS was for me. I have always had a strong interest in computers, so MIS defiantly seemed down my alley. In my free time I like to travel, go to the beach, and train in mixed martial arts.

Kenneth Aldrich

My name is Kenneth Aldrich. I am a Senior MIS major and will be graduating in Spring 2017. Originally, I was double majoring in MIS and Accounting but after taking a few upper level courses in both majors I turned my attention towards MIS . I was amazed by how much technology runs our lives on a daily basis, and how it is changing so rapidly. Another reason for my sole focus on MIS was seeing the high demand for MIS/IT majors coming out of college. This gave me a sense of relief knowing that I should be able to get a job upon graduation not only doing something I’m good at but also something I enjoy. When not working on my degree, I love hanging out with friends on weekends or participating in hobbies such as playing videogames, hunting, and fishing.

Fall 2017

Haley Masters

My name is Haley Masters. I am a senior MIS major and will be graduating fall 2017. Before I was a MIS major I started out as a teacher. I was going to teach 3rd grade. When I realized I didn’t want to go straight into teaching I switched my major to computer science. I took a few classes in that and then realized that I didn’t want to sit at a computer all day but I loved technology, so that is when I finally switched to MIS. When I’m not in school, with the club, or working as Dr. Klaus’s student assistant, I like to play with my puppy (Rusty, who is half pug), go fishing, go hunting, go dancing or just relax and watch Netflix. I’m kind of shy but really friendly, so if you see me in the hall feel free to say hi!
