Management path: The potential career for this path is the Chief Information Officer (CIO). At first, an MIS professional will enter the organization as a business or systems analyst, progressing into technical management and, after significant management experience could be qualified to be the CIO.

Technical path: The potential career for this path is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
